Comorbid Conditions

Comorbidity is defined as the co-occurrence of two or more conditions in the same person.  Comorbid conditions in autism commonly include gastrointestinal symptoms, sleep problems, epilepsy, feeding issues, toileting problems, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD), anxiety, depression, and mood problems. ICAN publishes research that highlights the significant health, developmental, educational, and social impacts of comorbid conditions.
